Remember When ‘Gay’ Meant…?

Just as most heterosexuals would feel who/how/when/where they fuck is a small part of who they are, most gay guys and girls only really think of how different they might appear to the straight majority of the world when they are taken to task for or defined by the fact that they are fucking people of their same sex.

Something With Depth

Bad raps and stereotypes are something that no one welcomes. Whether it is aimed at a group or an individual, trying to overcome false public perception can be a very difficult and frustrating thing even if these perceptions are not terribly damaging. Those on the receiving end of things usually just want the public to understand the truth. Such is the way it is in the gay community, which has long suffered many erroneous beliefs about them. Being gay is absolutely not just about frivolous sexual flings that continue into old age. It is not just about looking good and wearing the right thing. It is not just superficial nonsense. Being gay is about so much more. It is about human beings with depth of character who are in serious partnerships for many years and want the same respect as anyone else in life.

And we do it well, really. We have great gay dating sites and social portals, we can chat-up a cute hunk all we want, grab a few nights of one-handed chat and never have to even meet a guy if we don’t want… and if we do just think of all the preliminaries that have been handled because we vetted our new guy on an online site.

Can we stop looking JUST for hunks, please?!

Let’s get real, gay daters: There are very few of us who would ever turn away a hot, attractive hunk of a man if he showed up ready, willing and able on our door step looking to spend some quality naked time with us, right?!. We must remember however, that beauty really is only skin deep, and while some have famously asserted that ugly goes right to the bone, the fact remains that the most attractive looking people are not always the most valuable or kind hearted people. It is up to us to behave as adults do and not get taken in by physical appearance alone as we search, seek, and contact some of those amazing men out there that we like even if they are not a typical hunk. I certainly find that attraction comes with time and those hunks that you are craving instantly are not necessarily going to still be that attractive once we get to know them more, are they?
